Review: Picket Fence Pursuit by Jennifer Johnson

2700573I must admit that I went back and forth trying to decide what to rate this book. I believe the writing was solid and it was a sweet story, however, these characters just drove me crazy!

Kylie is a woman who grew up poor and became determined that she would go to college, get a high paying job and marry a man with a good, secure job as well. She had everything planned out and looked only to herself to provide the security she wanted. She claimed to be relying on God, but wasn’t really.

Ryan is a man who appears to not have a stable job, however, he is actually independently wealthy. He overhears Kylie talking with her friend about what kind of man she wants and decides to keep the truth of his financial standing secret.

As the story progressed, Kylie’s inability to truly trust God just grated on my nerves as well as the way she treated Ryan. I will give this book credit for being well-written, the characters were just not ones that I enjoyed. It is also a clean romance and I appreciated that. (3 stars)
