Review: A Passion Most Pure (Daughters of Boston #1) by Julie Lessman

2121231I have read so many really good books lately…books that I, without hesitation, rate at four or five stars because they are so well written and such beautiful stories. But, having just read A Passion Most Pure, I feel as if I need to add a few more stars on my rating system! I think I have to give it 8 stars…

I don’t do this to demean any of the other books I have been reading, because they are wonderful and many have pulled at my emotions and swept me away with their complex characters, romance and wonderful plots. I have heard for quite a while that A Passion Most Pure, well for that matter, the entire Daughters of Boston series was one that I needed to read. I thought it sounded great and have planned to read it for quite a while. But other books that I needed to read and review just kept getting put to the top. I finally bought this book and put it in line to read, letting nothing get in the way!

Well, this book (a good 477 pages in length) caught hold of my heart, dug in deep and took me on the most amazing romantic journey I have ever been on. I read it in two days flat!Julie Lessman knows how to write an amazing romance, that really is, in fact, even more than just a romance. It is a romance about an entire family.

The O’Connor family is a family that I would have wanted to be a part of. It is the family that Faith is a part of. It is not perfect. There is one sister who is particularly cruel to Faith and causes all kinds of heartache in this book. But Faith trusts in God and he sees her through.

Collin McGuire is the man that Faith is in love with. He is a man who is bitter and angry toward God. He desires to be a part of the O’Connor family and tries to do it his way, rather than God’s way. This causes plenty of heartache, too!

There is just so much more to this story, but I don’t want to give away anything more. If you have not read this book, I suggest you do! I have already downloaded the next two books and am going to be reading on them soon. I highly recommend them! (8 stars)…ok, ok (5 stars) but I really want to go higher! 😉

  1. I just downloaded this on my Nook! Like you, I have been wanting to read this for a while now, and Barnes and Noble offered it for free! I can’t wait to get to it!!

  2. I downloaded for free on my kindle (it may still be free) and I can’t wait to read it. My TBR list just keeps getting longer and longer! And I’m having problems with my eyes, not a good thing for an avid reader!!!! Hope it’s something fixable.

I am sorry to hear you are having eye problems! I hope it clears up soon. I did get it for free on my kindle, however, had purchased it on sale not long before in paperback. I actually ended up reading it on my kindle for convenience, though! So good!

      • Don’t you hate that…when you buy a book and then it goes on sale or either comes up free? I’ve got so many freebies on my kindle though I really can’t complain.

I have an appointment with the eye doc the end of next week, so hopefully he can tell me what’s wrong and fix it.

Yep, that’s exactly how I felt! It’s an incredible series! My review was more a discussion, so now that you’ve read it, feel free to join in! Can’t wait to hear what you think of the next two!!
