Review: A Melody for James (Song of Suspense #1) by Hallee Bridgeman

18077525 I really enjoyed this book. It is packed with loss, love, danger, excitement, sinister plots, exhilarating success…the list goes on and on. It is the story of two people who have both experienced loss and pain in their lives. Melody experienced a huge betrayal and James lost his wife, Angela, to a murderer. Is it possible for there to be a happily ever after for Melody and James?

There is just so much to this story that it is hard to write a review that really does it justice. It was a very hard book to set down. I always found myself wanting to read just a little bit more. Then, I would find myself thinking of Melody and James and their situation even when I wasn’t reading the book…wondering what would be next for them! It is a testament to good writing when an author can make their readers so very invested in their characters.

I also enjoyed the detail with which the life of a superstar was described. I really was able to feel like I was there, watching Melody and her crew rehearse and perform. Very good attention to detail in all of the scenes led to a very believable book. I felt the same way about James. Getting a peek at his brilliant mind and watching him do his thing with technology.

As always, there was a strong element of faith in the story. Real people dealing with real struggles and learning how to turn to the Lord for help. I highly recommend this book to readers who love romantic suspense. (5 stars)

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review, which I have given.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Hallee Bridgeman

Hallee Bridgeman lives with her husband and their three children in small town Kentucky. When she’s not writing Christian romance novels, she blogs about all things cooking and homemaking at Hallee the Homemaker.

Hallee started writing when her oldest child and only daughter was a baby, but a busy professional career and being the wife of a deployed soldier had her shelve her books for another time. Two more children, a cross country move, and God’s perfect timing brought the books off of the shelf to be dusted off and presented to you now.

Hallee loves coffee, campy action movies, and regular date nights with her husband. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit. She prays her books are a blessing to you and would love to hear back from you.
