Review: A Widow’s Might (Arbor Vale Mystery #1) by Eunice Loecher

20011173 A Widow’s Might is a really enjoyable “cozy” mystery. Zita and Zinnia are a bit zany and provide some really funny comic relief. I enjoyed that there were fun characters, as well as “normal” characters. It was light-hearted, yet still maintained a realistic feeling. I really liked Zita, her niece Kimmy, and Officer Brooks.

Solving the mystery was an enjoyable ride and the path the story took was really creative. I am glad that A Widow’s Might is part of a series. I think it will be fun to return to Arbor Vale in the future and solve more mysteries. This book will have you wondering who the murderer is and if the strange events in Zita’s life are connected to the death of her friend.

I have found that I am really enjoying cozy mysteries and if you are also a fan of these types of stories, this would be an excellent choice. Light humor, fun characters, and many twists and turns made for a very enjoyable read. (4 stars)

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.

Eunice Loecher enjoys living in a small Wisconsin northwoods town, south of Lake Superior. This setting inspired her Arbor Vale mystery series, featuring the two “Z’s” Zita Stillman, amateur sleuth, and her sidekick the flamboyant Zinnia Blossom Winwood.

Writing for over twenty years, Eunice was a finalist in the prestigious Wisconsin Regional Writers Award, The Jade Ring 2003. Eunice also had stories included in three editions of the “God Allows U-Turns” series, the Christian version of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Then Eunice switched from non-fiction to fiction and began by writing two romantic suspense novels. She now writes cozy mystery as her true calling.

Right now the Kindle version of A Widow’s Might is only $0.99!

The Nook version is also $0.99!
