Review: His Most Suitable Bride by Renee Ryan

21489605 Once again, it was a joy to read another book from the Charity House series. If you have not read any other books from the series, don’t worry, His Most Suitable Bride stands alone just fine.

This book was so good! Both Callee and Reese have events from their past that weigh on their hearts, making them think that loving someone will never be a part of their future. The story has a little humor and some fun in it, heartache from the past, and a beautiful love that catches both Reese and Callee by surprise.

Callee is a great heroine. She has been successful at staying out of the spotlight for many years, dressing to not draw attention to herself. She feels so unworthy. Reese is a wonderful hero, who keeps a tight rein on his emotions. He has faced a lot of hurt in his life and I loved how supportive he was of Callee when she opened up about her life.

His Most Suitable Bride contains great characters and a wonderful plot. I look forward to reading more books from this series. (5 stars)

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.

No one in Denver knows how close Callie Mitchell once came to ruin. Dowdy dresses and severe hairstyles hide evidence of the pretty, trusting girl she used to be. Now her matchmaking employer wants Callie to help find a wife for the one man who sees through her careful facade.

For his business’s sake, Reese Bennett Jr. plans on making a sensible marriage. Preferably one without the unpredictable emotions that spring to life around Callie. Yet no matter how many candidates she presents to Reese, none compare with the vibrant, intelligent woman who is right under his nose—and quickly invading his heart.

Multi-published, award-winning author Renee Ryan sold her first book in 2001 by winning the inaugural Dorchester/Romantic Times New Historical Voice Contest. She sold her second book to Harlequin’s Love Inspired Historical line in February 2009 and has since sold ten manuscripts to the historical and contemporary Love Inspired lines.

Renee grew up in a Florida beach town where she learned to surf very poorly. Armed with a degree in Economics and Religion from Florida State University, she explored various career opportunities, including stints at a Florida theme park, a modeling agency, and a cosmetic conglomerate. She also taught high school Economics, American Government and Latin while coaching award-winning cheerleading teams. She currently lives in Savannah, Georgia with her husband and a large, fluffy cat many have mistaken for a small bear.

You can connect with Renee on her website, Goodreads, and Facebook.
