Shield of Protection is a glimpse into the new True Blue K-9 Unit series from Love Inspired Suspense. This short story introduces the K-9 dogs and their officer handlers. It is a short, quick read, which is meant to whet the reader’s appetite for future books in the series.
The action starts off strong, right from the beginning and forces April Reed and Declan Maxwell to work together to save the day, along with Declan’s canine companion, Storm, of course! Declan and April must also face their feelings for each other and decide what the future will hold for them. I’m looking forward to reading more of the full length novels in this series.

Dana Mentink lives in California where the weather is golden and the cheese is divine. Her family includes two little girls (affectionately nicknamed Yogi and Boo Boo.) Papa Bear works for the fire department and he met Dana doing a dinner theater production of The Velveteen Rabbit. Ironically, their parts were husband and wife.
