What a beautiful, heartfelt journey these characters were on! This is book six in the Heart of the Mountains series, yet it could be read on its own, as well. The previous book, This Homeward Journey, would be a good one to read right before This Daring Journey, as Samuel Grant appears in both novels.
I loved the connection that developed between not only Samuel and Moriah, but also between Samuel and baby Cherry. Samuel’s character and gentleness came shining through in the way he cared for Moriah and her child.
The rugged, dangerous land that these characters had to journey across came to life within these pages. It was easy to imagine the frigid temperatures and desolate beauty as their party trekked toward the hope of reaching family. I loved this story from start to finish!
