ABOUT THE BOOK

the heart of a heroTitle: The Heart of a Hero
Series: Global Search and Rescue #2
Author: Susan May Warren
Publisher: Revell
Release Date: June 2, 2020
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Jake Silver may not be able to put the memories of his time as a sniper and Navy SEAL behind him, but at least he can put his skills to use as a part of the Jones Inc. rescue team. Saving the life of pediatric heart surgeon Dr. Aria Sinclair on Denali helped too. But now he can’t get her out of his head.

Aria has dedicated her life to helping children born with defective hearts. After all, she was one of those children. Driven to succeed, she lives a lonely, stressful life. One she would have lost on Denali if it hadn’t been for Jake. Jake is exciting and handsome, but he’s also dangerous, and she’s already lost one person she loves. She can’t bear it again.

It’s not until she finds herself trapped in the middle of a Category 4 hurricane that she can admit she needs Jake desperately. With their very survival in the balance, can they hope for a second chance at life . . . and love?

MY REVIEW

the heart of a heroThe Heart of a Hero was full of action-packed adventure as the story picked up with Jake and Aria, who definitely had some romantic moments in book one, The Way of the Brave. Things just seem to keep going wrong for these two! I loved that this book’s title truly embodied Jake. He was so completely a hero and couldn’t help but give his all for Aria and anyone else who needed him.

Jake and Aria had some huge issues and burdens from their pasts that impacted them. They both had big journeys to take, emotionally and spiritually, in order to get past what held them down. I loved seeing their hearts for each other, and especially the way Jake fell completely for Aria.

The side story featuring Ham was very interesting and I am definitely excited to read the next book in the series. The Global Search and Rescue series is a series that needs to be read in order and even ties into the Montana Marshalls series with some overlapping events. I’m loving finding out more and more details with every book.
