Review: More Than a Billionaire by Krista Noorman

If you have read books one and two of the A Billionaire for Every Season series, you will recognize that the author has More Than a Billionaire taking place during the timeline of both of the first two books and that they all overlap each other. It was interesting to see exactly what was going on in Skylar’s life while her brothers were finding their loves.

I really liked seeing the dynamic between Franky and Skylar, especially as it seemed that their friendship might finally be moving toward a romance. But fear got in the way, especially for Franky. These two had such great chemistry as friends and it was clear that their hearts longed for more. But, Franky let fear lead him and he ended up making decisions that broke Skylar’s heart.

I felt so sad for Skylar, and although the story was richer for the angst that she went through because of Franky’s decisions, it was hard to see her get hurt over and over again. But, all comes right eventually and I think these characters will be stronger for it.

This story can be read on its own, however, if you want the full picture of the lives of all three Schultz siblings, read books one and two first.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Her brother’s best friend is the guy of her dreams. If only he’d see her as more than a friend.

Skylar Schultz has spent half her life loving Franky Middlebury, the only guy who’s ever seen her as more than heiress to the Schultz Chocolate fortune, but she’s always been firmly positioned in the friend zone. As much as she cherishes their friendship, she wishes he would see her as so much more than his best friend’s little sister.

Things aren’t going well for Franky. His girlfriend left him, he’s unhappy as a partner in his father’s law firm, and he feels stuck in a life he didn’t really want. The one bright spot is Skylar. She’s there for him in a way nobody else is, filling his stressful days with laughter and offering unending encouragement.

As their friendship progresses, they begin to rely on each other as they are faced with family drama and career changes. All the while, Skylar hopes their newfound closeness will blossom into more. But when someone new walks into Franky’s life, will everything change? Will this woman be the fresh start Franky’s been longing for or will he finally see the one who’s been there for him the whole time?
