This is definitely a feel-good romance. I liked the relaxed atmosphere at the Cabins in the Pines and although it was clear that there was another book that took place before this one, I had no trouble following along.
I listened to the audio book version and liked that there were two narrators, male and female. They switched off based on whose perspective was the prominent one in each chapter. I wasn’t a huge fan of the male narrator’s version of the women’s voice, however, I got used to it after awhile.
This was a sweet second-chance romance, and truly a second-chance at a life of love and happiness for Hope, rather than the stressful life she had been living the past few years. I was so frustrated with Hope’s father for most of the book, however, I was happy with the way things resolved between the two of them.
