It was great to get back to the Monroe family in Caught by the Cowboy Dad. I have really enjoyed this whole series, right from the start. However, if you haven’t read any of the other books, I feel that this story can be enjoyed as a stand alone novel. It focuses on Holden Monroe and his teenage son, Devin, along with Dr. Bernadette Carlisle.
Holden had a lot of things to work through in this book. He found out that he was going to be a father again, yet he and the baby’s mother were not on great terms because of the way he had ghosted her a couple of months earlier. It was great to see the growth that Holden had in this story. He had a lot to learn about what was important in life and what wasn’t. I really felt for Bernadette, as she truly loved Holden, but knew that Holden didn’t really understand what love was.
Devin was a great character and his side story with Frankie was really fun to read about. I liked the rapport between Devin, Holden, and Bernadette. Some of my favorite parts of the book were when they were around the campfire together. This story was very enjoyable to read.
