If you are a fan of Susan May Warren’s Christiansen Family series, I highly recommend this story! It is a great chance to catch up with every single member of the family (and their significant others and children). If you haven’t read the series, please do that first, before reading this. Otherwise, you might find yourself in character overload, among other things.
The Christiansen family deals with a lot as Christmas approaches. These things range from health problems to job decisions to some relationship strife. The author did a good job of showing the need for communication and how important a supportive family is. I also appreciated the way she wove the faith thread into the story. By pointing to the truth that God not only sent us a savior, but that God walks with us through everything, the author was able to point the characters back to the right focus and help them in overwhelming situations.
Even though there were tough issues, this was a beautifully uplifting book, full of hope. It captured the connection between family members that I loved in the series. I highly recommend it. I am so glad that my husband purchased this book as a Christmas present for me.
