This was a fun and heartwarming story. I really felt for both characters. They had some tough decisions ahead of them. Finn was a wonderful combination of loving father, hardworking cowboy, and scarred soldier. Kendall was attempting to salvage what had become of her life and was trying her best to not fail on her new path.
Healing the Rancher is one in a long list of books in the Mountain Monroe series, yet it is written in a way that should make it easy to pick up and follow what is going on in the story without having read the previous books. There are a few characters who make appearances from earlier novels, but not in a confusing way.
Even though Kendall and Finn started out seeming like total opposites and truly did come from very different backgrounds, the way they were drawn together was hard to refute. I also loved Kendall’s work ethic. She dove in and poured her heart into learning and trying to do things correctly. Then, if she messed up, she tried again.
The author peppered humor and fun into this story with a host of crazy farm animals and a sweet little girl, too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
