Audio Book Review: Flashover by Megan Besing

This action packed, second chance story stars a hero who carries scars over most of his body from a fire he survived when he was a teen. Houston is a character that I met in the book Expired Hope, which is from the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series and is about Houston’s brother, Macon. You can read Flashover without having read Expired Hope, but I appreciated the background of how the brothers worked through their problems as it touched on the fire that so changed their lives. Flashover is the second book in the Chasing Fire: Montana series. I have read book one and loved it, however, I think you could easily jump in and read Flashover on its own, as well.

I listened to the audio book version and thought that the narrator did a very good job with the voices. I was completely captivated by this exciting story. There were many times that Houston and Sophie had to run for their lives. I loved the way this brought them together and helped Sophie to connect with Houston and learn to forgive him for some things in their pasts.

I really enjoy second chance at love stories and I have found that I also appreciate when one of the main characters has some kind of scarring or physical disability that has made other people not open to a relationship with them. It makes it even sweeter when they find the person who loves them for who they are and are not caught up in their scarring, an injury, or a disability.
