Seagrass Pier is the third book in the Hope Beach series and I have loved every single book! However, don’t fret if you haven’t read the others in the series. Seagrass Pier stands alone as a great romantic suspense.
Colleen Coble has done an excellent job creating a very exciting story based on the idea of “cell memory”. Elin is haunted by the memory of the murder of the woman who became Elin’s heart donor. The idea that Elin is a witness to a murder based on a transplanted heart could have been an unbelievable plot line if handled incorrectly. However, the author did a wonderful job with this story and made it seem completely plausible and definitely terrifying for Elin.
I really enjoyed the romance between Elin and Marc. Their dynamic as they work together to bring a killer to justice was fantastic. There are some big hurts that must be overcome and trust to be regained. This story does a great job of reminding us that God forgives and we need to as well.
The diary entries that transport the reader back in time and tell the history of the home really added a lot to the story for me as well. There are so many threads throughout this book that are interesting and also kept me guessing about who might be out to silence Elin.
I thoroughly enjoyed Seagrass Pier from start to finish and highly recommend it for fans of romantic suspense. (5 stars)
