About the Author

Cleopatra Margot resides with her family and their golden retriever in small town, rural Nebraska. Inspiration for her novels comes from both real life + fictional characters and storylines in her brain. The town of Believe is based on her own hometown, but with embellishments. She and her two younger siblings are homeschooled, and enjoy traveling with their parents and the dog. When she’s not writing, Cleopatra enjoys Bible journaling, time with family and friends, playing cards, being outside (when it’s not subfreezing temps), laughing, singing, and enjoying life.

Exerpt

“Believe’s biggest weekend is upon us, ya’ll,” Noah declared, gesturing to the normal amount of traffic on Main Street. “As you can see by all this traffic.”
Liam paused with his paint roller dangling off the ground, squinting into the early morning sun. “You do realize it’s just you and me listening, right? Also, quit yakking and start brushing. This needs to dry sooner than later.”
“Maybe you should’ve painted the giant red BerryPepper smack dab in the middle of Main Street a little sooner than the Friday of BerryPepper days.”
“Yeah, because I haven’t had anything else to take care of,” Liam retorted.
Noah dipped his brush in the can of black paint. “I like the outfit, by the way. The steel-toed boots kind of clash with your pants turned shorts, but hey, maybe you’ll start a trend.”
“I’m starting to wish I’d asked someone else to help me with this,” Liam mumbled. “Once you finish the mouth, I’ll start rolling.”
“Are you rushing me?”
“Nope.”
Noah squatted down and brushed the mouth onto the pavement, his concentration clearly and thankfully stealing his ability to talk. After he was finished, Liam dipped the roller in the tray of red paint and started filling in the bottom half of the face while Noah tackled the nose and eyes.
Liam’s cruiser was parked in the center of Main Street with its lights flashing. Some people waved as they drove by and others cranked their heads around to see what was going on.
“So, we’re getting closer to your big day,” Liam said. “Are you ready?”
“Were you ever actually ready?”
“Good point. Are you prepared?”
“That is literally the same question.”
Liam rolled his eyes. “Yeah, and you get what I’m asking.”
“Ready to make things official and be husband and wife? Yes. Absolutely. But as far as the actual being a husband part? No. I don’t have a clue what to do. I mean, kind of, but what if I can’t provide enough for her? What if I’m a terrible husband?”
“Bro, none of us are good husbands before we get married. Nobody can be because you’ve never been there before. And I won’t tell you that every part of marriage is easy, or that there aren’t any trials or difficulties, but if you love Kristen, trust me. You’ll do fine. And from the looks of things, you love her very much.”
