My Review

This was a cute premise for a story, however, I struggled to connect with these characters. I have to admit that upon first meeting Mariah, I did not like her. She seemed to have a real chip on her shoulder and preconceived notions toward men. Mariah definitely improved upon reading farther into the story, but it took awhile for me to warm up to her.

Nelson was a nice main character and he brought an interesting backstory into the book regarding why he was so against wedding planners and big, elaborate weddings.

Once these two started hanging out together and working on making their relationship look real to Nelson’s friends, I started becoming more invested in the story. The author definitely knows how to write a swoony kissing scene!

Things moved at a quick pace once the fake relationship started and I did enjoy the second half of the book more than the first. The ending felt kind of sudden to me and I would have enjoyed another chapter or an epilogue for Nelson and Mariah.

(3 stars)

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Welcome. This is a wonderful cover. I have been trying to find Valentines books. Oh but this sounds like a fun read. I love books where the two are not looking for love but it comes to them anyway.
